Why can't I edit comments even though the grade plan is open?

Note: As of July 9, 2018, Blackbaud's School Management solutions (which include Core, onBoard, onCampus, onMessage, and onRecord) are utilizing a new top level navigation. This primarily affects users performing administrative tasks-constituent navigation for most parents, students, faculty, and alumni will remain the same.
We appreciate your patience as we work to update our documentation. If you are seeing this message, the content of this solution is still being vetted for possible updates. Please refer to this mapping document if you need assistance finding a task in the new navigation.

If you impersonate a teacher to edit a student's comment or grade but find that it is not editable, that means the comment has already been approved. Either the grading manager needs to un-approve the comment or the grading manager needs to edit the comment from onRecord.
To edit a comment or grade as a grading manager after it is approved:
  1. As a grading manager, go to onRecord > Approval > Grading
  2. In the filter options, select the School Level, Grade Plan, and Review By: Teacher.
  3. Click View
  4. Click the Review link corresponding to the teacher. There you can edit each student's comment.
To allow teachers to edit the grade or comment:
  1. As a grading manager, go to onRecord > Approval > Grading
  2. In the filter options, select the School Level, Grade Plan, and Review By: Teacher.
  3. Click View
  4. Click the Review link corresponding to the teacher.
  5. Un-check the Reviewed check box for each grade or comment.
  6. Save & Exit.

The teacher can now edit the grades or comments or can be done for the teacher through impersonation.
