If teachers open their grade books and they appear blank, this means the Academic Group Manager needs to set up Marking Periods in onCampus > Settings > Academic > Marking Periods.
If Marking periods are set up, check and make sure that the teacher is actually assigned to the class if it's before the year has begun as that may also cause this issue.
