When creating a market effort you have the option to create it from a plan which can includes a default source code. When copying segments from a previous marketing effort the source codes are populated correctly. Editing multiple segments at once and adjusting any value causes the segment source code to revert to default. Editing one segment at a time works correctly.
Download and install the latest service pack, which contains all fixes from previous service packs. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the service pack.
Steps to Duplicate
1. Create a new marketing effort plan by navigating to Marketing and Communications, Marketing Plans, Add a marketing plan. 2. From the newly created plan add a new planned marketing effort list with a source code that includes at least one user defined source code part with three options as well as the package. 3. Set the user defined source code part to have a default value. 3. Approve the plan. 4. Navigate back to Direct Marketing Efforts. Create a marketing effort which uses the same source code (not from the plan.) 5. Add at least two segments and populate the user defined source codes, one with each remaining option for each segment. Use Different values than the default created for the plan. 6. Activate the marketing effort. 7. Navigate back to Direct Marketing Efforts. From the planned efforts tab select create effort from plan. 8. Copy segments from another effort. 9. Copy from the previously created direct marketing effort. 10. Edit all of the segments, change the package. 11.
