This error occurs when Windows Installer automatically attempts to repair Raiser's Edge 7 due to a corrupt or missing component that is being blocked or removed by anti-virus. Please complete the following steps in order to resolve the issue:
 
  1. Update your  anti-virus software to the latest virus definition update currently available.  (Note: Microsoft has reportedly resolved this issue in Definition version 1.239.517.0)
  2. Restore the mentioned file from Quarantine / Deleted Items.  (Note: If there are no files for you to restore, you will need to uninstall/reinstall the Raiser's Edge from the affected workstation)
  3. Log into the Raiser's Edge
OR 
  1. Navigate to the virtual store located at. c:\users\*affected username*\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files x86\blackbaud
  2. Delete or rename the Blackbaud folder. 
  3. Log into The Raiser's Edge
If the issue persists, then complete all of the following steps: 
  1. Create an exception for the affected file located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\
  2. Restore the affected file from Quarantine / Deleted Items.  (Note: If there are no files for you to restore, you will need to uninstall/reinstall the Raiser's Edge from the affected workstation)
  3. Report your issue to the vendor of your anti-virus software
