Blank page or 'Oops! Something went wrong' error when loading NXT via Internet Explorer 11

When logging into The Raiser's Edge or The Financial Edge NXT, users notice that the application does not load when accessing from Internet Explorer.
This may manifest as a blank screen, or as the error pictured below

Remove from the trusted sites on Internet Explorer:
  1. Go to Tools > Internet Options
  2. Open the Security tab
  3. Select Trusted sites, then click on the Sites button
  4. Look for in the list of websites, highlight it and click remove.

Secondly, ensure that Access to data sources across domains is disabled in the IE Security Settings:
  1. Go to Tools > Internet Options
  2. Open the Security Tab
  3. Click on the Custom level button
  4. Under Miscellaneous, ensure the Access data sources across domains option is set to Disable 
Third, Remove from your Compatibility Settings:
  1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the window, or click the Tools menu in the toolbar  
  2. Select Compatibility View Settings.
  3. If the text field has listed, highlight it and click remove
  4. Click Close.
