Raiser's Edge
If the user is linked to Raiser's Edge and the user cannot currently log in to NetCommunity
  1. Confirm the Email Type being used in Phone Type Mapping
  2. Update the record:
    1. Log in to The Raiser's Edge
    2. Navigate to Records > Constituents
    3. Open the record that needs to update the email address
    4. Under the Bio 1 tab, email addresses tab, update the email address and confirm the email type matches what is under the Phone Type Mapping in the NetCommunity website
    5. When finished, click Save
  • To initiate a password reset to the new email address, enter the new email address in the Forgotten Password page. This will sync the new email address on the RE record to the NetCommunity database.
If the user is not yet linked to The Raiser's Edge
  1. Link the Blackbaud NetCommunity user to a Raiser's Edge constituent record
  2. After the sign up request is processed, following the steps above for "Update the record" to add an email address of the same phone type mapping in NetCommunity
  • To initiate a password reset to the new email address, enter the new email address in the Forgotten Password page. This will sync the new email address on the RE record to the NetCommunity database.
  • NOTE: Any action taking place between BBNC and RE for linked user will sync the new email address. Examples includes: Initiating a password reset or navigating to the email preferences page and clicking update (no changes necessary).
 
Education Edge
For users linked to Education Edge, the email can be updated by running the  Add Users Utility.
  1. Confirm the record in Education Edge has an email address and confirm the type
  2. Create a query for the user in question.
  3. When running the add users utility, confirm an email is selected in the "Send Email to Type" field just below the Query Name field. This will refresh the record's email address.
