When globally changing records to check the deceased box on a constituent with a non-constituent spouse, the spouse is not being made a constituent even though under Config > Business Rules > Constituent Options > Deceased options the box "Make the spouse a constituent" is marked. Manually changing the constituent to deceased on their record works, and the spouse is made a constituent. But using global change does not work unless the boxes for "Make the deceased constituent and Honor/Memorial" and "Create a Tribute for the deceased" are also marked.
This occurs because Constituent Code is required, and the Global Change feature doesn't assign Constituent Codes when creating constituents. To ensure the constituent records are created, do one of the following:
Go to Config > Fields > Constituent > Constituent Code.
Globally mark the Deceased? checkbox.
If desired, make Constituent code required again.
In Config > Business Rules > Constituent Options > Deceased options mark the "Make the deceased constituent and Honor/Memorial" and "Create a Tribute for the deceased" boxes.
