Batch hangs after pressing the Commit ! button or going to File menu and selecting Commit

I'm working on a gift batch and am ready to commit a batch. However when I press the green exclamation mark (!) button or click on File > Commit, the batch hangs and the commit options don't come up. At the bottom of the batch, it looks like the batch is going through and refreshing each row slowly.
We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information.

The batch should complete if allowed time for the rows to refresh. The time taken to commit the batch depends on the number of rows, so batches with fewer gifts will commit more quickly.

If you have a larger batch and the Raiser's Edge inactivity timeout is of concern, process the batch using a non-Supervisor RE user. If needed, review security settings for The Raiser's Edge inactivity timeout.

Steps to Duplicate

In The Raiser's Edge:
  1. Start a new gift batch.
  2. Enter data.
  3. Click ! to bring up batch options (or go to File > Commit).
  4. Batch hangs as it loops thru each row refreshing. Process status shows in bottom information bar.
