Personal Notes do not display as expected when searching or managing

You have a personal notes part on the NetCommunity website. Users are searching for notes or managing their notes. 
You may be searching for notes and don't see the expected results. 
Alternatively, you may be managing notes and don't see all your notes to manage. 
You may not be able to edit the notes you want to edit.
There are a few settings in the personal notes part that control what the user sees on the search tab and the manage tab. Below are the items to check and the different behaviors which may arise depending on their setting.

Topics to Include
Topics to include control which Note Topics are available for searching or managing. 
Behavior: You may only see notes with a certain topic, but expect notes for other topics.
To manage which Note Topics are available: 
  1. Edit the personal notes part
  2. Under Note Topics: Topics to Include, mark the box(es) for the Note Topic(s) you want to include
  3. Click Save when finished

Limit to query
When a query is selected, under Limit to query, this controls which results show for the Search tab and for the Manage tab. 
Behavior: you may be searching for notes or trying to manage existing notes and do not see the expected notes. 
  1. Edit the personal notes part
  2. Scroll to Display Notes: Search Options
  3. Next to Limit to query, confirm the query listed
    • Note: you may need to run the query within The Raiser's Edge to compare the results of the query to the results of the notes on the website. 
  4. Adjust the query as needed, or click the X to remove the query to default to All Constituents
  5. When finished, click Save

Load unfiltered results when this part is loaded
When Load unfiltered results when this part is loaded is enabled, this automatically displays notes under the Search tab. Additionally, if this box is marked, the Manage tab will only show the number of Results per page as specified in the Results per page number. 
Behavior: while under the Search for notes tab, you notice that results are automatically displayed. Alternatively, under the Manage notes tab, you may only see a select number of notes.
To edit this setting:
  1. Edit the personal notes part
  2. Scroll to Search Options
  3. Mark or Unmark Load unfiltered results when this part is loaded
  4. Click Save when finished

Results per page number
Results per page, under Listing Options controls how many results show per page on the Search tab.
If you also have Load unfiltered results when this part is loaded marked, then the Results per page also controls how many results show in Total for the Manage tab as well. For example, if you have results per page set to 10, and the user has 15 personal notes, they will only see 10 personal notes. 

Behavior: you may be searching for notes or trying to manage existing notes and you only see a certain number. For Manage Notes, you may only see a certain number but know that you have more notes.
To edit the results per page:
  1. Edit the personal notes part
  2. Scroll to Listing Options
  3. Select the desired number from the Results per page dropdown
    • Note: if you want an unlimited amount to show for the Manage Notes tab, you will also need to unmark Load unfiltered results when this part is loaded, following the steps in the corresponding section.

Steps to Duplicate

While searching:
  1. Access a page with the personal notes part
  2. From the Search for notes tab, if results aren't automatically listed, enter your criteria and click Search
  3. Note: the expected results are not present
While managing:
  1. Log in the NetCommunity website
  2. Access a page with the personal notes part
  3. From the Manage my notes tab, note that you don't see all your notes or you don't see the option to edit your notes
