In the NetCommunity donation form, there is a section called Designations which maps to the Funds within The Raiser's Edge. You can setup a Display name of your Designation to be Fundraising and have it mapped to a Raiser's Edge fund called General. Additionally, you can setup an Other selection that allows the donor to type in a desired designation, instead of choosing an existing one from the dropdown.
When a donation comes into the NetCommunity plugin, under Fund Linking, for a donation that has a designation chosen from the dropdown of the Donation Form, the Transaction Date for the fund will display the Fund name within the Raiser's Edge. You do not see the Designation Display name that the donor chose on the form and instead see the Fund name from The Raiser's Edge.
Alternatively, if the donor chose the Other designation and typed in their desired designation, while in the Plugin, you will see the Designation name they typed. You will link it to a Fund, and then process it into a batch and commit the batch. After the transaction leaves the plugin, the Designation display name is no longer available.
You want to know if there's a way to see the original designation name that the donor chose from the dropdown or typed into the form for Other.
For designations that were selected to a dropdown, you can attempt to track down the Designation Display Name by editing the donation form in NetCommunity and reviewing the Designation Display Name. Note: this assumes no changes were made to the form since the donation was made.
For Other designations, where the donor typed their desired Fund, this information is not stored in The Raiser's Edge. It's only visible when the transaction is within the NetCommunity plugin, prior to linking it to a fund. Once the fund is linked in the plugin, the free form text disappears and shows the linked Fund.
