To quick reference a former term's grade (ex: Sem 1) from within the current term (ex: Sem 2), you can create a new Grade Plan Grade in the current term as follows:

  1. Navigate to: Academics > Grades > Grading Setup > Grade Plan Grades
  2. Click '+'
  3. Create a value for what you would like. Example: 'Sem 1 Grade (for ref)', as here:

  10. Enter a sort order value
  11. To the right of this, click on the 'Formula (0)' button, then 'add'
  12. Enter a sort order, a name, and in the 'Report Card Grade' selection: your intended value set to 100%, as here:

  13. Click 'close'
  14. Click 'Save & Exit'

The new Grade Plan grade settings should appear as here:

Now, when a grade is entered by a teacher under 'Grading' in (example) the Sem 1 Grade Plan Grade location, as here:

When you click 'calculate' in the Sem 2 Grade Plan (still under the 'Grading' tab) for the 'Sem 1 Grade (for ref)' grade plan grade, you will see the just-created formula (from Step 12), as here: User-added image

which will then pull in the prior term's report card grade (not marking period grade from grade book), as here:

Note: Changing this value will *not* change the prior term's grade in any way. This Grade Plan Grade *could* be pulled into a report card (which is why creating a unique/ understood name is important), but otherwise won't leave this screen unless you select it elsewhere (such as in Report Card Builder, or a Grade Average Calculation).
