An auto-debit is a convenient way for parents to pay tuition and reduce school delinquency. There are several reasons an automatic payment will fail. Mostly, they fail because of insufficient funds or the transaction was declined by the credit card company.
Once established, Smart will pull the monthly amount due. We will only pull for the current month plus any late fees or bank fees. We will not pull for any past due invoices. Parents must manually pay any prior balances.
Auto-debit Terms (Applies to auto-debit enrolled families only): - An auto-debit will go into process one business day prior to the due date and be posted to the account on the due date, as authorized by the family. - If due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the account will be debited on the following business day. - If any such debit is dishonored, for any reason, Smart Tuition shall have no liability for any fees charged by the financial institution. - Smart Tuition will automatically reattempt failed debits for insufficient funds approximately 10 days from the posted date. - The family may incur a failed bank fee and may incur a late fee. -To cancel or stop a scheduled auto-debit payment, contact Smart Tuition no later than 3 business days prior to the scheduled payment at 800-468-8996 or have the parent contact the parent support center at (888) 868-8828.
