Beginning with The Raiser's Edge 7.96, patch 10, when I add or edit a credit card number with 4 or less digits to batch, it is removed or fails to save once I tab out of the field. The same thing happens when I click into another row or try to save the batch.
To save the last 4 digits of a card number in batch, add extra placeholder digits into the Credit Card Number field so that the number has 5 digits. For example, instead of entering 1234, enter 01234, which will be stored in the batch and copied to the record as ?1234.
The credit card number field was intended to indicate which credit card is tokenized in the Blackbaud Payment Service. Since the issue doesn't occur for tokenized credit cards, we have determined this issue will not be addressed in the program in its current state. In this case, we believe the risks and challenges outweigh the potential benefit of resolving this issue. We strive to select the most impactful changes and issues to address with each release to accelerate the rate at which we deliver new features while sustaining the highest level of quality for our customers.
After RE version 7.96 Patch 10 this feature was removed from the software.
