Is there a date when FundWare support will end? How does the end of FundWare support impact me? What happens if I need assistance after the end of support date for FundWare?
As advances in technology continuously drive product innovation, Blackbaud releases new products, features, and services that help nonprofit organizations achieve their missions. This means that clients can realize new value from the consistent investment and advancement of many Blackbaud solutions while Blackbaud simultaneously prepares more mature products for product end of life.
Support for FundWare will end on December 31, 2017. After December 31, 2017, Blackbaud will no longer provide any support or updates for FundWare. This includes bug fixes and critical defects, as well as security and compliance measures. In addition, all Support options for FundWare will become unavailable after December 31, 2017. This includes phone support, email support, chat support, online support resources, related online knowledgebase articles, related online community posts, etc. Any requests for FundWare assistance made after December 31, 2017 may be responded to at Blackbaud’s discretion as paid extended support engagements which would be billed to the client.
Please note that the end-of-year update for 2016 and toolbox c were the last tax updates for FundWare. Therefore, if an organization continues to use FundWare into 2018, they will assume the risks of using an unsupported financial solution, including potential payroll compliance issues for federal and state taxes, as well as data file challenges. We strongly recommend that clients be diligent about all data backups.
All organizations were required to finalize migration decisions before June 30, 2017 in order to be fully transitioned off of FundWare prior to December 31, 2017. Although your Blackbaud account team will make every effort to prescribe a timely migration plan and achieve typical implementation timelines, any migration contracts signed after the June 30th deadline are not guaranteed to be live on Financial Edge NXT prior to December 31, 2017. In these instances, clients will be using FundWare with no Blackbaud support.
