Since Custom Parts parts in NetCommunity do not exist entirely within the NetCommunity database, you must take care when upgrading or reinstalling NetCommunity so as to not overwrite the required files for custom parts.
Before upgrading or uninstalling NetCommunity, make backups of the following directories that reside on the NetCommunity web server:
After the upgrade or reinstallation of NetCommunity, if the testconfig page indicates errors for your custom parts, do the following:
1) Restore the sub-directory from the \custom directory above that contains files for the custom parts in question 2) Restore the entire \bin directory above
If after the above steps, errors persist with your custom parts, the parts themselves may need to be upgraded to be compatible with the version of NetCommunity that you are using.
