How to add (invite) a new user account in eTapestry

As you gain new employees/volunteers, you may want to give them access to eTapestry.  You would do that by creating a user account for them.

Also, there are many training and help resources available to your new users. Please see the attached PDF for more information.

  2. Click Add an Account
  3. Check the box next to User under Roles
  4. Set the Name Format to Individual
  5. Fill in the First Name and Last Name
  6. Add the primary email address of the user (this should be the same email address as the one for their Blackbaud ID)
  7. Fill in the Address, City, State, Postal Code, Phone Number, and Email information (optional)
  8. Fill in or select any applicable User Defined Fields
  9. In the Tasks menu, click Save And
  10. The user will receive an email inviting them to the database
  11. The user will click accept and will be prompted to link their user name with their blackbaud id.
  12. Once the user click confirm then they will gain access to the database
Note: If the user does not have a Blackbaud ID, then please have your site administrator invite the user to Blackbaud.com first, so they can create a Blackbaud ID associated with their organisation record.

Note: If the user does not accept their invitation within 30 days, the invitation will expire and the user will need to have the invitation sent again.

Each new user will be assigned to the Default security group when created.  To move a User to a different security group, follow these steps:
  1. Click Management on the menu bar
  2. Click Security Groups under the Admin section
  3. Click on the User's Name to access the Rights page of their account
  4. Mark the radio button (empty circle) next to the security group you wish to assign them to
  5. Click Save And
  6. Have the user log out and back in
