Notes:


Follow these steps first:
  1. If you know the Supervisor password and want to change it, change the password in Administration (Raiser's Edge/Financial Edge) or Education Edge/Student Billing).
  2. If you have forgotten the Supervisor password, check with your database administrator, IT department, or other users with supervisor access to see if they know it OR if they can change the password in Administration (Raiser's Edge/Financial Edge) or Education Edge/Student Billing).
  3. Try logging in using the default Supervisor password: ADMIN for The Raiser's Edge 7.91 and above and for The Financial Edge, The Education Edge, and Blackbaud Student Information System 7.82 and above; admin for lower versions, The Patron Edge, The Patron Edge Online, and The Patron Edge Kiosk. Change the Supervisor password after logging in.
  4. If you can't log in as Supervisor to the non-hosted version of The Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud Student Information System, The Education Edge, The Financial Edge, The Patron Edge, The Patron Edge Online, or The Patron Edge Kiosk, a primary contact, site administrator, or training administrator at your organization can go to Downloads, click the Supervisor Password Reset Utility for your product, accept the terms and conditions, and download the utility for your software version. All primary contacts and site administrators at your organization will receive an email notifying them when the utility has been downloaded.  (Note: this does not need to be run on the server. It can be run from any workstation)
  5. After your have reset the Supervisor password, change it to ensure security and delete the utility.

How to run the Supervisor Password Reset utility:

For The Raiser's Edge 7.91 and higher:

  1. Before using the utility, attempt the general steps first.
  2. Save the Password Reset file to your workstation.
  3. Double-click the .exe file.   (If you receive an Open File - Security Warning, click RUN)
  4. The UNZIP utility will unzip files needed for the reset process
    • Click Browse
    • Navigate to the SysDB folder in The Raiser's Edge 7 directory. This location is where your database files are stored. Example: C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\The Raisers Edge 7\SysDB
    • Click OK.
    • Click UNZIP.
    • Click OK.
    • Click CLOSE.
  5. Go to MyComputer and navigate to the SysDB folder from Step 4 (Example: C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\The Raisers Edge 7\SysDB)
  6. Double-click the UpdateRE791.exe file to run the reset process.
  7. Select your database from the drop-down menu and click UPDATE.
  8. Click OK
  9. The Supervisor password will be reset to ADMIN.

For The Raiser's Edge 7.83-7.85:

  1. Before using the utility, attempt the general steps first.
  2. Save the Password Reset file to your workstation.
  3. Double-click the .exe file.   (If you receive an Open File - Security Warning, click RUN)
  4. The UNZIP utility will unzip files needed for the reset process
    • Click Browse
    • Navigate to the SysDB folder in The Raiser's Edge 7 directory. This location is where your database files are stored. Example: C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\The Raisers Edge 7\SysDB
    • Click OK.
    • Click UNZIP.
    • Click OK.
    • Click CLOSE.
  5. Go to MyComputer and navigate to the SysDB folder from Step 4 (Example: C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\The Raisers Edge 7\SysDB)
  6. Double-click the UpdateRE783.exe file to run the reset process.
  7. Select your database from the drop-down menu and click UPDATE.
  8. Click OK
  9. The Supervisor password will be reset to ADMIN.


For Blackbaud Student Information System, The Education Edge, and The Financial Edge versions 7.87 and higher:

  1. Before using the utility, attempt the general steps first.
  2. Save ResetPassword.exe to your desktop.
  3. Double-click ResetPassword.exe to run the reset process.
  4. Select your database from the drop-down menu and click Reset.
  5. The Supervisor password will be reset to admin.
  6. After you have reset the Supervisor password, change it to ensure security and delete the utility.


For Blackbaud Student Information System, The Education Edge, and The Financial Edge versions 7.86 or lower:

  1. Before using the utility, attempt the general steps first.
  2. Save resetpassword72.exe to your desktop.
  3. Double-click resetpassword72.exe to run the reset process.
  4. Select your database from the drop-down menu and click Reset.
  5. The Supervisor password will be reset to admin.
  6. After you have reset the Supervisor password, change it to ensure security and delete the utility.


For The Patron Edge:

  1. Before using the utility, attempt the general steps first.
  2. Save the Password Reset file to your workstation or server.
  3. Log in to The Patron Edge database in which to reset the Supervisor password.
  4. Double-click the .exe file.
  5. The Supervisor password will be reset to 1. You may change this password
  6. After you have reset the Supervisor password, change it to ensure security and delete the utility.

For The Patron Edge Online:
  1. Before using the utility, attempt the general steps first.
  2. Save the Password Reset file to your server.
  3. Ensure you are logged in as an administrator on your machine.
  4. Double-click the .exe file.
  5. The Supervisor password will be reset to 1. You will be prompted to update the password after logging into The Patron Edge Online.

For The Patron Edge Kiosk:
  1. Before using the utility, attempt the general steps first.
  2. Save the Password Reset file to your server.
  3. Ensure you are logged in as an administrator on your machine.
  4. Double-click the .exe file.
  5. The Supervisor password will be reset to 1. You will be prompted to update the password after logging into The Patron Edge Kiosk.
