When attempting to link a constituent record within an Enhanced Revenue batch in CRM that has a Revenue Type of Pledge and an Application of Donation, the following error is received: "error: An unknown error occurred during the request. This could indicate a request to an invalid endpoint or a problem with the web server configuration."
This occurs because of conflicting batch template defaults and is addressed by correcting the batch template. There are no circumstances where the software would expect a revenue type of "Pledge" and an Application of "Donation." One or both of these settings should be removed from the template.
Steps to Duplicate
Go to Revenue > Batch Entry
Select Batch Template of Enhanced Revenue Batch, click Save
Click Customize Fields once Batch opens
Defaults the following fields:
Revenue Type: Pledge
Payment method: None
Attempt to link to an existing Constituent Record through the Lookup ID field
Note the following error is presented: "An unknown error occurred during the request. This could indicate a request to an invalid endpoint or a problem with the web server configuration."
